Debut: WarioWare, Inc: Minigame Mania (2003)
Obstacle Level: 1 (out of 5)
Diamond City is the main city in the WarioWare series. It is a prosperous city founded by Wario. Wario and it’s many inhabitants live and work in Diamond City. It lies on the coast and has a nice vibe; even if it’s run by Wario.
Diamond City is first seen in the background. The stage is a plaza’ish looking platform that has a floating platform above it.
The second phase is where the platform “lands” in front of Mona’s Pizza, Ashley’s Mansion, Diamond Dojo, Dr. Cygor’s Lab, and Diamond Kingergarten. Various residents can be seen walking behind the stage. The castle can be see in the background. The stage itself is one long walk-able platform with two moving platforms overhead,.
The third phase is where the platform “lands” on the shore. You can see a stunning view of the ocean and the island. Again, residents walk by. The platform is fought on the road, next to the beach. It has three park benches which characters can jump on and stand.
The forth phase is where the stage “lands” in front of WarioWare, Inc. It is placed quite a ways away in order to get the full view of the establishment. This is a entirely flat platform that is apparently raised from the ground thus is not a walk-off platform.
The last and fifth phase actually puts the stage in front of Wario’s Baseball Stadium from Super Mario Sluggers. It is replicated esactly like from the game and Wario’s head will occasionally bob back and forth. This last stage is fought in front of the stadium. It is flat and has walk-off sides.
Afterward, the stage will lift back up and go back to it’s original spot.
Hazards and Movements
In the start, the stage overlooks Diamond City. However, it zooms into the section where Mona lives and lands. After 40 seconds, it takes off and soars over the city and lands at the beach. There is really no hazards here save for the beautiful scenery.
After 40 seconds, the stage will lift up again and carry the players in front of WarioWare Inc. Again, residents walk by and have no affect on the game play. After 40 seconds, the stage travels to Wario Stadium. The only hazard here is an occasional flying baseball which does 50% damage when it hits. However, it’s small and doesn’t hit a player often.
This stages only hazard is being left when the platform travels. However, their is enough time to get to the stage before it leaves.
I had a hard time deciding whether to have a second WarioWare stage or an entirely different stage. I decided to go with an entirely different stage because I felt like changing up the Wario formula a bit and offer something different. That is why I decided to make a tour-like stage that gives the player views on all the cities of Diamond City.
Chances of it Being in SSB4
20% – I would expect that a WarioWare themed stage, much like before, will be used but different – like how Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 is. However, in some way, Diamond City might make an appearance so we shall see.
