The Galactic Usurper

Orion Tsang has around 200 HP. He will begin to teleport around the stage to confuse players. He will then stop and fire a magical projectile at the player. These do dark magic damage up to 13%. He will fire four to five of them. He will immediately teleport if attacked so you can stall him from attacking by trying to hit him. Once he is done with the attack, he will stand in the center of the stage and brandish his laser whip. H ewill then begin swinging it back and forth causing damage. One hit can do 10% so dodging is suggested.

He will then fire a red laser which will travel around the stage. While this is happening, attack him since he is unable to teleport. Just make sure not to get him by the laser. It does around 8% Lightning damage. Iron Tsang will then teleport to the top of the stage and fire some more magical projectiles. He is unable to teleport during this sequence.

After beging knocked down to 50% health, he will initiate his Final Smash. He will call in a squad of Nebulox fighters which will then begin to pummel the stage with rockets and explosives. He will then fire his laser which travels through the stage and causes a large explosion. Dodge or shield these attacks if possible. In all, it does around 45-50% Dark and Fire damage so be careful!

After his Final Smash though, he loses the ability to teleport. Smashing and hitting him will reduce his percentage to 0 in no time.

Boss Sphere

Orion Tsang appears and begins to pummel every character with magical attacks. They do around 5% Dark damage and can cuase decent knock back. He will then float to the bottom of the stage and fire his laser which can do 20% Lightning damage if hit and does a high amount of knockback. He will then laugh and vanish.

Boss: Metal Face

Metal Face from Xenoblade Chronicles

Universe: Xenoblade Chronicles

Debut: Xenoblade Chronicles

Boss Type: Offensive, Aerial

Element Alignment: Lightning, Dark

Chapter: ?

-Boss Sphere-

Rarity: Common

Type: Attack

Duration: 8 seconds

The Galactic Usurper

Metal Face is one of the leading antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles. He is the driving reason behind Shulk’s DDesvions and Shulk ultimately desires revenge against him. Metal Face is a very cruel and unmerciful Mechon that will slice it’s opponents into ribbons.

Metal Face appears as a boss in the Galactic Usurper mode. His fight is split into two parts. The first part involves Metal Face chasing after the player while on the back of a Sin and Punishment esque flight platform. It chases after the the platform while jet mode and rushes past at super sonic speeds in attempt to blow the player off. It will then charge and try to knock the player. It does high damage and above average knock back so try to avoid it. Once or twice, it will fire it’s powerful head cannon. It can KO as low as 30% so attempt to dodge or jump over it. Fortunately, it fires in a single straight path. It takes 10 seconds to charge and Metal Face blinks blue during this so attack him then.

After its health is reduced to half, it will transform inti it’s human form and crash onto the platform. It uses powerful melee attacks to slice opponents. It’s attacks with lightning quick slashes from it’s long, steel claws. It can also cause super sonic waves to shoot out and strike opponents from long distance. It does 10% damage and average knock back. It will also do a rushing attack that can hit up to 8 times at 3% damage. It has high knock back.

Lastly, it can use it’s head cannon to fire a large energy beam. It takes a bit to charge like last time. However, he can alter the direction of the beam by directing the gun up or down. It deals the same amount of damage and knockback. It usual does a up and down pattern but it may reverse it or even do a up, down, and up pattern. It will blow up when defeated and fall off the platform.

Boss Sphere

Metal Face appears and fires a massive energy beam that seers through the sky. It first starts down and then up and then up to down. Metal Face finally stops and directs the energy beam to the middle and finishes it. It causes high damage and can KO as low as 55% damage. Metal Face then arches his back, laughs, and vanishes from the stage.

Chapter:?

-Boss Sphere-

Rarity: Rare

Type: Attack

Druation: 15 seconds

The Galactic Usurper

Hades appears from his Underworld Kingdom to rage war against the Super Smash Bros. Universe. He is manipulative and cunning as well as powerful.

He appears as a boss in the Galactic Usurper mode as a boss. He attacks with various projectiles and heavy hitting Fire element attacks. Hades first starts the fight by causing fire pillars to appear from the ground randomly. Being hit by one of these will cause upwards to 12% Fire damage and vertical knock back.

He then throws several homing projectiles that follow the opponent. They deliver 13-18% Dark damage and have a large blast radius. They will detonate if it hits another object or travels for longer than 10 seconds.

After losing half of his life, he will grow to a much larger size and occupy the background. He will fire the homing bombs as well as do physical attacks. As he swings hist fist, attack those. He will also do an unavoidable attack that covers the entire screen in purple and black flame. It deals 45% Dark and Fire damage.

Near the end of his life, he will reform to his original size and all of his attacks speed up by 2x. He switches between homing bombs, physical attacks, and the fire pillars. He may throw in the fire storm attack. When defeated, he starts to shrink and fades into the Underworld.

Boss Sphere

Hades appears and immediately begins firing homing bombs at players. After 6-9 bombs, he does the fire storm attack. His boss sphere attacks retain the same damage percentage and knock back.  He stops after the attack, straightens up, and says My, my how look how weak you are.  It`s truly…a pity.

Boss: Medusa

Medusa from Kid Icarus: Uprising

Name: Medusa

Universe: Kid Icarus

Debut: Kid Icarus (1985)

Medusa was once a ruler in Skyworld but was casted down to her tyrannical reign and usurpation of power. In anger, she retaliated against Pit, Palutena, and Skyworld. However, she was just a pawn of Hades, ruler of the underworld, as revealed in Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Galactic Usurper Story Mode

Chapter: 5

Medusa has several devastating attacks such as firing projectiles and using poison to damage opponents. She first begins to fire homing and non-homing projectiles from herself. The homing attacks do low to medium damage while the non-homing does medium damage. They always have hit stun on them. Medusa than starts firing lasers that strike the ground and will continue towards the opponents. It is the most strongest at the last few seconds if the attack. Once hit, it will trap the opponent in the laser and do 2% Dark damage. She will then raise her hand and emit a poisonous cloud that comes from the mouth on her hand. When it touches an opponent, it does 5% damage with every hit. It lasts for 8 seconds. She repeats thus several times, alternating between attacks. Occasionally, she will teleport when being hit continuously.

When she is below half in health, she will transform into her monstrous form and start attack with claw swipes and charging attacks. These have high damage and knock back. Shortly after transforming, she will detach her head in which it will start floating around the screen. It will attack with fast eye beams. The body will also emit poisonous clouds to hinder opponents.

The problem is that attacking the head or body does insure you damage Medusa. When either the body or head is flashing green, they are able to be attacked. However, when they stop, they are invincible to damage. Thankfully, the body or head will be flashing the entire time. After being defeated, Medusa will collapse and fade into dark, black flames.

-Boss Sphere-

Rarity: Uncommon

Availability: Unlockable

Sadly, Medusa never transforms into her Monster form. However, she attacks with her techniques from the story mode and teleports around the room.

When she is summoned by Pit or Palutena, she says: hahaha. To think you will need my aid against these worms. Very well!”. If she is summoned against Pit or Palutena, she says: “Finally, my time for revenge is nigh! Prepare yourself,[name]!”

When she is finished, she sighs and disappears in a flurry of snakes.

My Thoughts

Medusa is one of those characters I HIGHLY considered from my roster. However, two additional character from
a non-major series, to me, was a bit too much. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Medusa playable though in SSB4.

Boss: King Boo

Name: King Boo

Universe: Super Mario Bros.

Debut:

Boss Type: Offensive, Trick

Element Alignment: Dark

Chapter: ?

– Boss Sphere –

Rarity: Common

Type: Attack

Duration: 20 seconds

The Galactic Usurper

King Boo appears as a boss in the The Galactic Usurper story mode.

King Boo has the ability to split into a mass of Boos and damage the players. The trick to defeat him is to turn your back to him. He will then approach you to attack. If you turn around, even during an attack (Ike’s down smash for example), he will turn invisible and transport himself to a different aerial of the stage.

Down Aerials such as Link’s, Pikachu’s, and Shulk’s, Down Smash’s like Dark Samus, Squirtle, and Mario and specials such as Zelda, Kirby, Yoshi, and Dixie King can hit King Boo.

The battle begins with King Boo separating himself and transform into a mass of Boos and will charge forward. Dodging, blocking, or attacking them will help you avoid their attacks. After a while, the Boos will regroup and transform back into King Boo. He will then teleport around the room. He will then start to spin. At this point, turn around and he will begin to approach you menacingly.

Once hit, he will spiral out if control and run into the right or left hand wall and burst into a whole bunch of Boos and will become stunned. Landing one hit on a Boo will cause it to vanish in a puff of smoke. Attacking more of them will cause the King Boo to decrease in size when he re-arranges himself. Keep on doing this until the last Boo disappears. King Boo will re-appear in full form but a lot more transparent than before. He then vanishes in a puff of smoke.

Boss Sphere

King Boo appears, spins in the air, and changes into a mass of smaller Boos. He charges towards the stage and smashes everyone in his way. It does 2% damage each hit and can hit between 20-25 times. He does 3 passes back and forth through the stage and then reforms himself back into King Boo.

My Thoughts

Bowser is the main villain of the Super Mario Bros. franchise so when I went looking for viable bad guys, I couldn’t find any that were really good. However, King Boo played the part of end boss in the Luigi Mansion games so I decided to use him as the boss rep for the Super Mario Bros. Series.

Boss: Demise

Demise from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Name: Demise

Universe: Zelda

Debut: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011)

Boss Type: Offensive, Berserk

Element Alignment: Dark, Lightning

Chapter: ?

– Boss Sphere –

Rarity: Uncommon

Type: Attack

Duration: 20 seconds

Demise is the antagonist ofLegend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. He tried to grasp the Triforce in his hands and change the fate bwtween himself, Link, and Zelda. However, in this end, Link managed to defeat the great Demon lord but, as consequence, Demise died cursing the destinies of Link and Zelda. Thus, gave birth to Ganondorf.

The Galactic Usurper

Demise appears in the Galactic Usurper Story Mode as an Boss and a general in the mechanical islands army.

Demise attacks opponents first with a couple lighting strikes from his sword. He fires at least 8 of them randomly. They have unlimited range and can strike any opponent from any distance so it’s best to avoid them. They deal upwards to 20% Lightning damage so avoid them at all costs. During his lighting strikes, he will pause so continue to press forward during this time.

He will then charge at the players and start swinging his sword. Avoid his attacks and dodge them to tire him out. This will happen after 8 seconds. he will start to stagger and slow down. At this point, it is best to attack him and pommel him. After taking enough damage, he will begin throwing electrical strikes again but even stronger ones. deflect, shield, or avoid these as before.

It is a fairly straight forward battle but it befits a master swordsman like himself.

Boss Sphere

Demise is unlocked by completing The Galactic Usurper story mode and then locking him during a Boss Battle with a empty Boss Sphere.

When summoned, Demise comes up from the ground with darkness wrapped about him and laughing manically. He will begin firing Lighting strikes at opponents. A hit from these does 10% Lightning damage and stun grounded opponents/can ground airborne opponents. After 5 hits, he will rush at opponents and begin hacking away at them. Each hit does 15% and has high knock back.

After 15 seconds, Demise roars and a blast of darkness envelopes the stage and deals 40% Dark damage to all opponents. The darkness fades and he starts to laugh hysterically as he fades away.

My Thoughts

I was originally going to make a Demise a playable character (not liking Ghiraham too much) but I decided to make him a Boss instead due to his likeness to Ganondorf. Still, he makes a powerful and evil addition to the game. I based his attacks off his Skyward Sword fight; especially the lightning strikes.

E

Boss: Ashnard

King Ashnard from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Name: King Ashnard

Universe: Fire Emblem

Debut:

Boss Type: Flying, Berserk

Element Alignment: Fire, Dark, Flying

Chapter: ?

– Boss Sphere –

Rarity: Common

Type: Attack

Duration: 25 seconds

King Ashnard is the Mad King of Daen who tricked his father onto signing a blood pact and then assassinating him to gain the throne. However, he was defeated and killed by Ike and his comrades. After his death, the kingdom of Daen was left without a ruler.

The Galactic Usurper

Ashnard is encountered in The Galactic Usurper Story Mode. He is a Boss and is affiliated with the evil presence that is in the mechanical floating island.

He attacks using his black dragon and attacks with his might sword, Gurgurant. He will fly over the level while spouting out flames and beating the air with his wings to damage players. On occasion, he will swoop down to strike players with a quick blitz attack. Once his health is reduced, he will dismount from his mount and begin attacking with his sword. He strikes heavy but very slow; allowing to be attacked by players. After 15 seconds, he will hop back onto his dragon.

Boss Sphere

Ashnard is unlocked by completing The Galactic Usurper story mode and then locking him during a Boss Battle with a empty Boss Sphere.

When summoned, Ashnard descends onto the stage in a fiery wrath. When he lands, a fire blast shoots out damaging anyone in range with 13% fire damage with a high knock back. He then sends “Pitiful insects! Die!” and laughs manically.

He then takes to the air with his dragon and the dragon will start to spew out fireballs at opponents. Each fireball does 20% fire damage and has a decent knock back. The dragon then begins to beat it’s wings fast which pushes opponents slowly across the stage but does no damage.

After 15 seconds past, Ashnard jumps down from the dragon and begins striking opponents with his large sword. Each strikes does 18% damage. They are slow strikes but they have extremely high knock back potential and can KO at high percentages. While Ashnard is attacking with his sword, the dragon overhead will continue to beat his wings to hinder opponents movements.

After 25 seconds past, Ashnard slams his sword into the ground and kneels saying “But how?!”. His black dragon roars in pain and crashes to the ground but does no further damage to opponents.

My Thoughts

I envisioned Boss Spheres as being the ultimate assist item in terms of power and speed. King Ashnard became the first Boss Sphere I designed. He originally was planned to be a playable character as a Fire Emblem villain but I scrapped the idea since he wasn’t exactly iconic in the series and the Black Knight would had been a better choice (but Nightmare filled out the role as a heavily armored swordsman). So I decided to put King Ashnard as a boss and a Boss Sphere. I mean, seriously, a Black Dragon riding lunatic is pretty epic.
